Super Mario 3D Land and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword helped Nintendo to a successful kickoff of the holiday sales season.

The new Nintendo 3DS game, Super Mario 3D Land, which landed in stores Nov. 11, has become the fastest-selling portable Mario game in company history, selling more than 500,000 units since launch, says Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime.

Meanwhile, the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, released for the Nintendo Wii on Sunday, Nov. 20, has sold 535,000 copies since its U.S. launch, making it the fastest-selling Zelda game ever, he says.

These strong new releases also drove sales of Nintendo 3DS and Wii systems, Fils-Aime says. Last week's 3DS sales tripled (by 325%) compared with sales the week of Nov. 6, the week before Super Mario 3D Land made its debut; the week of its debut, sales rose 49% from the previous week.

"What this has been able to do is drive our Nintendo 3DS business in only eight months to surpass the full first year volume of the original DS and we still have the bulk of the holiday to go," Fils-Aime says, "and we still have the launch of Mario Kart 7 (out Dec. 4) to continue driving our full-year sales on Nintendo 3DS."

Sales of the original Nintendo DS hit 2.37 million in the first year of its Nov. 2004 U.S. release.

The Nintendo Wii had its biggest Black Friday ever more with than 500,000 units sold just during the day and pre-Black openings at some stores, he says.

Fils-Aime thinks the Black Friday sales momentum could help Nintendo to a successful holiday sales season. "We know that Black Friday and that entire week is a key selling week, and it is important for products like ours to have a jump in momentum, and we were fortunate to see that," he says. "For us, it really was driven by unique and powerful software and what gives us confidence is that we still have more software to launch in the balance of this holiday period."

Also coming from Nintendo: Fortune Street (Dec. 5, for Wii), which Fils-Aime describes as "a franchise that has sold quite well in Japan. Imagine a board game meeting a grow-your- business all done in a video context with Mario and other Nintendo characters, as well as characters from Square Enix. It's a very interesting very unique title. We think it is going to do quite well for us during the holiday."

Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir Coming to North America

Nintendo of America has confirmed that Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir will be coming to the 3DS on Friday, April 13.

What is Spirit Camera? It’s a horror/adventure game developed by Tecmo Koei. The game utilizes the 3DS’ built-in camera and augmented reality functions to enhance a sinister and spellbinding storyline by using the player’s own pictures and surroundings.

In the game, you play Maya, a girl who has been hiding in the shadows of an old house. Players need to help Maya break free from a horrible curse and help her escape from the clutches of a mysterious woman in black.

Spirit Camera will also come with a 16-page AR book (known as the “diary of faces in Story Mode). The AR book serves as a gateway into this very haunting experience.

Get Ready for the Nintendo Network!

A never before seen icon has appeared on the box-art of Theatrythm: Final Fantasy. Clearly written in the upper right-hand corner is a logo with the words “Nintendo Network”. On the back of the box it says that the game will offer DLC, which apparently will be one of the functions of the new network. According to reports around the industry, the Nintendo Network will be the new network on the 3DS and the Wii U, somehow integrating and connecting the two systems. Screenshots show that already in some places around the world, Mario Kart 7 is running on this new network. So, apparently, multiplayer online gaming is confirmed as a part of the network, not just DLC. What new features will Nintendo Network offer and how will it unify the Wii U and 3DS? All this may be announced at the conference scheduled for January 26th. Next week. Last year, Nintendo announced new details about the 3DS at the very same conference, so we can expect some new details to be revealed again this year.

A source that wished to remain anonymous has told us that Nintendo will launch a website accessible from any web browser that will handle configuration of your Nintendo Network account for use on the Wii U or 3DS. He also stated that Nintendo Network will include many new features that haven’t been used before by Nintendo. According to his accounts: Nintendo Network = Sony PSN = Xbox Live.

UPDATE: Our source saw the article and wanted to make sure that people understood that he didn’t mean necessarily that Nintendo’s service will be better or feature every single detail that Sony and Microsoft do, rather that until now Nintendo hasn’t even tried to compete but now they are going to create a service that is in full competition with the others. But of course, each one will still have their own style. However, he had one other detail to add: “What I can add to all this is that there is in fact one feature that is significantly ahead of one of the competitors, and I’m not talking about the well know ability to video chat. A few users on another console will be quite upset.”

What To Believe: The screenshots are undeniable and Nintendo has been making progress in catching up to the rest of the industry with their online framework. It makes sense that they will allow gamers to create one central identity for use on both the 3DS and Wii U. Expect more details at the conference and I’d even wager to say some Wii U news will be hinted at. (Don’t expect anything too exciting. Most of the surprises will be saved for E3. But Nintendo may whet our appetites with a small entree to go with E3′s main course.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KoDcH7gEqmE

http://www.siliconer...own-in-footage/

W Mario Tennis Open będzie można zagrać w dwie osoby za pomocą jednego carda z grą:

http://www.siliconer...py-of-the-game/

http://www.siliconer...create-folders/

Pojawiło się nowe info dot. Animal Crossing, będzie nosić nazwę "Tobidase Dobutsu no Mori lub Leap Out Animal Crossing" (Angielska wersja może nosić inną nazwę). Premiera w Japonii tej jesienii:

http://www.siliconer...-3ds-this-fall/

http://www.siliconer...-coming-to-wii/

http://www.siliconer...r-mario-bros-2/

W Fire Emblem: Awakening gracze otrzymają możliwość ściągnęcia za darmo dodatkowych postaci m.in. Martha z pierwszego FIre Emblem.

Drakengarda). Tego samego dnia Underworld Leaf z Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War również pojawi się w eShopie.

Zaś chara-designem odp. za Underworld Marth'a objął Senri Kita który pracował nad ilustracjami do Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, postać będzie dostępna 31 Maja:

http://www.siliconer...blem-awakening/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=G8hBoP-aisc

http://www.siliconer...-with-a-friend/

Nowy trailer Pokemon Black & White 2:
