- premiera w Europie 25 marca

Potential 3DS owners can rest easy now. Nintendo confirmed today that the handheld will feature one friend code. This is by far the most simple set up for friend codes for a Nintendo system ever. Both the DS and Wii required users to input separate codes for each game.
The company revealed today that the system will feature different colors for the notification light. When the light turns orange, the system is indicating that a friend is online. Other colors include red (low battery) and green (StreetPass activity).
Included in Hardware:

• Nintendo 3DS system

• Nintendo 3DS charging cradle

• Nintendo 3DS AC adapter

• Nintendo 3DS stylus

• SD Memory Card (2GB)

• AR Card(s) (view the cards using the outer cameras to play supported AR games)

• Quick-Start Guide

• Operations Manual (including warranty)

• SpotPass, a feature that lets Nintendo 3DS detect wireless hotspots or wireless LAN access

points and obtain information, game data, free software, videos and so on for players even

when the system is in sleep mode.*

• StreetPass, a feature that lets Nintendo 3DS exchange data automatically with other

Nintendo 3DS systems within range, even in sleep mode once this feature is activated by

the user. Data for multiple games can be exchanged simultaneously.

System Transfer which enable users to transfer already purchased software from one

Nintendo 3DS system to another. DSiWare purchased for the Nintendo DSi or the Nintendo

DSi XL can also be transferred into a Nintendo 3DS system.

At Nintendo of Europe's 3DS press event yesterday, Capcom's Yoshinori Ono was asked the following question.

"Considering you are trying to make Street Fighter IV 3DS accessible to a wider audience, did you ever think about including Nintendo characters to broaden the appeal?"

To the surprise of many, Ono actually said that he would love to be involved with a Nintendo x Capcom fighting game. He even went so far as to suggest that the idea be brought to the attention of Sakurai!

Konami’s just announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D will release as a 3DS launch title in Europe on March 25.

The game will featured a “unique” camera system which will monitor the gamer’s “every movement, right in the middle of the unfolding match,” which will enable players to make “runs in the channels and moving into space.”

PES 2011 also boasts a selection of 60 national side and 170 club sides, with Champions League also added in as well as Master League.

It’ll also support wireless play of two players and use 3DS’s Street Pass system, where systems will “sense when another Master League team is in the vicinity, and will compare the strength of each side, their respective strategies and stats.” The stronger of the two sides will win.

Win more strength comparisons and you’ll get promoted “to an upper Street Pass Ranking” until you reach the Champions League ranking.

Remake Cave Story zmierza na 3DSa

It's official: Cave Story, the 2D indie darling that started life as a free PC game in 2004, is headed to the 3DS. And not as a downloadable, depth-of-field-enabled version of itself, either – Cave Story 3D, announced today by publisher NIS America, will be a full-fledged remake of the original, with new content, character designs and fully 3D visuals. To get the full story, GR editors Mikel Reparaz and Brett Elston were privileged to sit down with Cave Story's creator, Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya (who developed the original by himself, and whose website features lots of cool, free stuff), and its producer/music director Tyrone Rodriguez, to talk about Cave Story, the 3DS and what exactly drives a man to spend five years creating a massive, retro-styled adventure.

The Nintendo Points purchasing system in use on the DSi and Wii may not carry over to the 3DS, according to the Japanese 3DS information page.

As translated by Kotaku’s, currently available prepaid Nintendo Points cards won’t be compatible with the 3DS.

Not much point stocking up next time your local retailer has a fire sale, then.

Nintendo advises that “prepaid point cards that can be used with the 3DS will go on sale at a later date”, suggesting it might be a matter of unique codes rather than a whole new currency.

Yes folks, it’s true. Walmart has filled its quote for pre-order sales for the Nintendo 3DS, so if you were planning on pre-ordering this at Walmart, you’re going to have to take another route. Pre-order sales for the Nintendo 3DS are officially sold out as of this week.

The demand is through the roof, as shown by the massive amounts of pre-orders going out to Walmart, Amazon, and various other stores who will be carrying this system. The Video Games division is used to seeing a high demand for games and systems, and the Nintendo 3DS is no different.

Nintendo expects to ship four millions units to various parts of the world by the end of March. If you still have not pre-ordered this handheld game, then you’re very far behind. Gamers from all over the world are making it a priority to be one of the first to order the Nintendo 3DS. Pre-order sales are quickly becoming sold out, so it’s crucial that you pre-order it if you expect to have the 3DS in your hands on its release date in your country.

The 3DS is region locked. This sucks. But the team at Vooks recently discovered that their Australian version of Pokemon White works perfectly fine on their Japanese DSi and Japanese 3DS. Given that Pokemon White has DSi-exclusive features, this should not work as the DSi is region locked. As Vooks explains, “this is huge news, not only does this mean that the region locking on Nintendo DSi games is optional, but this optional locking may apply to Nintendo 3DS games as well.” Lets hope this is the case, and lets hope region locking dies a fiery death. I doubt it will, but I can dream.

"Ubisoft held Rayman back so no one would see how crap it is, basically. Without spoiling the score, it's one of our lowest rated 3DS launch titles. Along with Splinter Cell and *shudders* Asphalt 3D. Ubisoft have only gone and blighted a Nintendo hardware launch with dodgy ports again. Ghost Recon, however, is one of the better launch games. Kittsy's personal favourite, in fact. Check the blog tomorrow for some abridged opinions of all the launch games." - NGamer staff writer (reviews editor) Matthew Castle Well, that's not what Ubisoft was saying earlier today about Rayman 3D. Perhaps the game shouldn't be purchased after all. Sounds like my money would be better spent on Shadow Wars. Thanks to James for the heads up!

i wideo z Ghost Recon. O ile po zapowiedzi zapowiadala sie kiszka tak po gejmpleju moze byc fajnie.

Yoshinori Ono was on-hand at a 3DS launch event in Madrid recently, and he was once again asked about Street Fighter Vs. Tekken for the 3DS. This would be the second time that we've heard Ono discuss the topic. The first time he was asked, Ono said that he would love to see it happen, but had nothing else to say on the matter. This time around, Ono once again said that he couldn't confirm anything, but the followed that up by saying that an important 3DS announcement is coming from Capcom next month. Hmmm...I think we should put two and two together on this one! Thanks to Fabio for the heads up.

Square Enix announces Heroes of Ruin for 3DS

Square Enix has announced this morning Heroes of Ruin, a brand new title for 3DS from Square Enix London and n-space.

heroes-of-ruin.jpg

It’ll feature “four unlikely heroes brought together to form a fearsome alliance.” The game will take advantage of social gaming features and online play.

StreetPass will form part of that experience, using it to form “an inventive in-game ‘Traders’ Network,” from which players will be able to buy and sell items that were procured during battles. Inventory will be “ever-changing” from each person past using StreetPass.

SpotPass will also be used to “reward players with rare one-off items or unique challenges through local wi-fi hotspots.”

The game’s official site will also give out challenges and quests to complete to players daily.

There’ll also be drop in-drop out co-op, as well as variable and “dynamic” environments in the game.

“With HEROES OF RUIN we wanted to take the game experience beyond the confines of the console’s two screens,” said Square Enix London GM, Lee Singleton.

“Nintendo 3DS’ online and social features allow us to do so much more than multiplayer, using both StreetPass and SpotPass to give players innovative ways of enhancing their experience”

Heroes of Ruin, which will be on show at E3 next week, releases in 2012. First screens are below.
